Aztec Academy

Mendota Junior High School offers a teacher-supervised Aztec Academy tutorial program after school Monday through Friday.  Aztec Academy is for students who are not meeting grade level standards as observed in assessments.   All students will be recommended based on assessment scores and teacher recommendation. Students who “cut” Aztec Academy will be assigned a consequence at the discretion of the site administrative team.

Mendota Junior High Homework Policy – Aztec Achievers

Homework is not an option. We believe that completion of homework assignments provides a more effective experience in the classroom. Those students who choose not to complete their homework assignments may be expected to form part of Aztec Achievers after school during which they will be required to complete their missing assignments. Parents will be notified in advance if their child needs to attend Aztec Achievers for support with homework and grades.

Saturday School

Mendota Junior High School offers Saturday School to students who are in need of remediation or seek enrichment opportunities. More details regarding the 2023-2024 Saturday School Academy will be available in the Fall of 2023.
